WENDT X3 MIXER

This is the wendt x3 mixer. It has all the necessary properties to record quality sound for any films. The mixer has 3 sides, the front side and left and right side. Each side has different characteristics. The mixer can record up to 3 channels of audio.

Front

  • The power switch is on the top centre, INT (batteries), EXT (external power) and OFF.
  • LED VU Display - Blue LEDs -12dB, -9dB, -6dB, -3dB, 0dB and red LED +3dB. If the light is in the red area it means the sound is too loud and it will start clipping. Use the channel faders to control the volume.
  • Battery Test Switch to test the battery voltage and is indicated on the right LED display. Hold it down to check the battery.
  • Power Monitor LED flashes on and off for normal power (voltage) and continuously on for low power.
  • Stereo use it to select RT = Right Ear (R+L), LT = Left Ear (L+R) for your headphones.
  • There are 3 channel faders that respond to the mic inputs which are on the left side. These control the volume for each channel.
  • You can pan the sound left, right and centre below the channel faders.
  • Low Cut Filters - the three position switch (140HZ, 20HZ, and 100HZ) at 12dB per octave to control the sound frequency.
  • RTN mix Switch, switches phones from external source to mixer.
  • Tone sends a low distortion sound wave to your zoom or marantz. Using this you can then adjust the gain on your zoom which gives you a rough estimation of how loud the sound is going to be.
  • Slate mic - Low noise slate mic to right and left outputs

Left side

  • There are 3 mic inputs, channel 1, 2 and 3
  • You can power your mic using the 48p on the side or switch to dynamic to turn it off. NB - If you are using the 48p on the mixer, turn the 48p on your zoom or marantz off, that way you save your batteries.
  • Mic - Line Switch allows you to select the incoming sound. Switch to mic if using a microphone. Switch to line if you are receiving a very high signal.
  • Pre-amplifier gain allows you to cut the incoming sound by 10dB or 20dB or 0dB.
  • HP Volume is the headphone volume control.
  • VU LED switch able display brightness: bright (high), normal, and off
  • Limiter limits the sound in/out

Right side

  • XLR Mic - Line Outputs, right and left line outputs. Switch to Mic or Line levels depending on the incoming sound. NB if you have the incoming sound set to mic then the outgoing sound should be mic and not line. If the incoming sound is line then the output will be in line. This also affects how your zoom is receiving the sound.
  • External Power is the port used if the mixer is powering from an external DC power source
  • Phone Jack 1/4” stereo.
  • Return  3.5mm stereo jack.
  • Slate Volume - screwdriver volume adjustment.
  • Battery Compartment six AA batteries
  • LINK / AUX OUT
